Aliso Niguel Theatre Company
OUR STORY
Aliso Niguel Theatre Company (ANTC) is a student-led performing arts program at Aliso Niguel High School that produces five major theatrical productions annually, including a fall play, Broadway-style showcase, repertory productions, and a full-scale musical. Since its founding in 2011, ANTC has provided students full leadership of all aspects of theatre production, including directing, acting, design, technical production, marketing, and stage management.
The program delivers real-world, experiential arts education in a professional-caliber setting, allowing students to build artistic and technical theatre skills while developing leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Productions such as Metamorphoses, Fiddler on the Roof, The SpongeBob Musical, and Bye Bye Birdie reflect both artistic rigor and community engagement.
ANTC also functions as a safe, inclusive creative space, addressing growing student needs for belonging, expression, and mental wellness through meaningful artistic participation. Recent program demand has doubled, reflecting increased student interest and the essential role of performing arts in youth development.
With decreases in funding for the arts - and particularly school-based programs - ANTC relies primarily on funds raised by students and their families, including members of the 501(c)(3) Booster Club, to be able to deliver this life-changing program in our community.
Mission Statement
The Aliso Niguel Theatre Company (ANTC) empowers students through exceptional theatre and music arts education by fostering creativity, leadership, collaboration, and artistic excellence in a student-led environment. Through live performance and hands-on production experience, ANTC develops confident young leaders while enriching the cultural life of the South Orange County community.
Background Statement
Founded in 2011, the Aliso Niguel Theatre Company (ANTC) is the award-winning theatre program at Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo, California. Supported by the Aliso Niguel Theatre Company Booster Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ANTC provides students with a unique educational experience where they lead nearly every aspect of theatrical production—from acting and music to technical theatre, choreography, set construction, lighting, costumes, marketing, and stage management. Under the mentorship of Drama Director Jeremy Golden and professional artists, students produce five major performances annually, including full-length musicals, plays, and Broadway Night, while developing artistic, leadership, and career-ready skills.
Impact Statement
ANTC transforms the lives of hundreds of students each year by providing meaningful opportunities to develop creativity, confidence, leadership, communication, and teamwork through the performing arts. Students gain real-world experience in performance and production while working alongside peers and professional mentors in a collaborative environment. Beyond the classroom, ANTC enriches the South Orange County community by producing affordable, high-quality live theatre that brings together thousands of audience members annually and fosters a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Needs Statement
As production costs continue to rise, ANTC must secure philanthropic support to ensure that every student has access to high-quality theatre education regardless of financial circumstances. Funding is needed to cover production licensing, musical scores, costumes, scenic construction, lighting and sound equipment, technical supplies, and professional coaching in acting, music, choreography, and design. Grant support helps keep participation affordable while maintaining the professional-quality educational experiences that distinguish ANTC's student-led program.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
At Aliso Niguel Theatre Company, we believe theatre is about much more than putting on great performances—it is about helping young people discover their voice, their confidence, and their potential. Every production gives students the opportunity to lead, collaborate, solve problems, and support one another while creating something meaningful for our community.
Our student-led model empowers young artists to take ownership of every aspect of the creative process, from acting and music to technical production, design, and leadership. These experiences build lifelong skills that extend far beyond the stage, preparing students for success in college, careers, and life.
We are proud to create an inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to belong, grow, and shine. Through the performing arts, we are not only developing talented artists—we are cultivating compassionate leaders and engaged citizens who will make a lasting impact in our community.
