Community Dental Program

AltaMed’s Dental Programs deliver comprehensive, integrated dental care to ensure that patients receive high-quality services regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Through our Community Dental Program, patients access a full range of preventive and restorative services—including exams, cleanings, sealants, x-rays, and major treatments—at clinics conveniently co-located with AltaMed medical sites for coordinated care. Our Dental General Anesthesia Clinic in Santa Ana is Orange County’s only pediatric dental safety net facility providing affordable treatment under general anesthesia or sedation for children with extensive dental needs or special healthcare conditions, along with family education and behavioral support to promote lasting oral health. In addition, our OC School-Based Dental Program serves over 3,000 children (pre-K to 8th) annually across 80 schools in 13 districts, offering on-site screenings, cleanings, x-rays, sealants, oral health education, and referrals to AltaMed clinics and specialty services as needed.

STOMP (Solutions and Treatment to Obesity Management and Prevention)

AltaMed’s STOMP Program—supports 400 children and youth ages 6 to 17—who are experiencing or are at an increased risk of childhood obesity. STOMP helps children and their families via a series of courses and assistance programs such as: Registered dietitian services to help children maintain healthy BMIs; Weekly health education exercises for children to follow and journal their progress; Interactive nutrition education where children and their families are taught to identify nutritional foods and their counterparts to encourage healthy eating choices and habits; Educating families on how to make healthy living affordable, whilst aligned with their cultural practices; and a range of additional services designed to meet all their various needs.

Community Cares Program

AltaMed’s Community Cares Program provides immediate aid to families in more than 25 Orange County ZIP codes and directly impacts hundreds of patients. By providing micro-grants and basic need items to our patients, this Program ensures that temporary setbacks do not become a permanent crisis.

Substance Use Disorder/Medication for Addictions Treatment Program

AltaMed provides clinically tailored treatment that personalizes care for each individual patient. We offer Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) within our primary care clinics to support individuals battling substance use. This Program helps address alcohol use disorder, opioid use disorder, and stimulant use disorder, combining recommended medications with counseling and behavioral therapies.
