Fiscal Sponsorship and Incubation

Fiscal sponsorship is a complicated business model that requires rigorous fund accounting and segregation of assets. Sponsored projects work with Charitable Ventures staff to raise and process funds for project operations. Charitable Ventures provides donors with tax receipt paperwork and grantors with general reports on project progress. Program staff also work with sponsored projects to strengthen and develop capacity to operate sustainably and independently, if desired. Because we work with many projects simultaneously, each project receives a separate bank account and monthly financial statements that track transactions and use of restricted assets. In addition to having a stellar onsite accounting and project management team, we also partner with a law firm and audit firm that provide expertise and advice on our fiscal and legal processes. These expenses are covered by the fiscal fees.

Through our consultation and capacity-building services, we help established nonprofits and foundations to evolve and grow their programs.

Collective Impact

Charitable Ventures is an inclusive hub for community leaders to collaborate, connect, and work toward long lasting change. Some of our regional collaboratives include: offering workshops and coaching to address equity needs, distributing COVID relief funding, serving as the nonprofit administrator of the 2020 Census, supporting county programming, and many more.
