CEO/Executive Director Experience

Carrie Buck joined the Family Solutions Collaborative in 2023 as the Executive Director. Prior to the FSC, she was the Executive Director of Homeless Intervention Services of OC, formerly HIS House Shelter for 9 years and served on the FSC Executive Committee from 2019-2023 and was the Chair during COVID-19. While at HIS-OC, Carrie increased the annual budget to $1.2 million, transitioned the organization to it's own nonprofit, started new programs for Transitional Aged Youth, and founded the HomeShare OC program, matching housing insecure college students to senior homeowners with an affordable room to rent. Carrie has been serving as a School Board Trustee for the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District since 2010 and the North Orange County Regional Occupational Program since 2022. She is on the Board of Directors for the Orange County School Boards Association and was appointed by California State Superintendent of Instruction to the California Child Nutrition Advisory Council. Additionally, Carrie has over 10 years experience as a small business owner with extensive knowledge in for profit and nonprofit business operations, fundraising, financial and employee management. Carrie Buck works with leaders in education and homelessness to make a difference for people who do not have a strong voice in Orange County. In 2020, she was recognized as a California 29th Senate Districts Woman of Distinction. In 2016, she was nominated for Something More’s Woman of the Year award. In 2018, HIS House was named the Placentia Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit of the Year and recognized as the California 29th Senate District non-profit of the month in October 2019. In 2020, she received the Marian Bergeson Award for Outstanding Board Member. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton.
