Mission Statement

The Huntington's Disease Society of America's (HDSA) mission is to improve the lives of people with Huntington's disease and their families, and to find a cure for the disease.

Background Statement

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) is the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease. From community services and education to advocacy and research, HDSA is the world’s leader in providing help for today, hope for tomorrow for people with Huntington’s disease and their families. In the battle against Huntington’s disease no one fights alone. At HDSA — family is everything!

Impact Statement

The HDSA Centers of Excellence network grew to 56 comprehensive care clinics, with 11 partner locations nationwide. This $2 million+ initiative ensures that families affected by HD have greater access to expert care and dedicated HD-focused social workers. HDSA committed over $3 million to vital research initiatives in 2023 nurturing the pipeline of researchers dedicated to finding a cure for HD. HDSA doubled our social worker network to 115 professionals this year, significantly expanding support for families affected by HD.

Needs Statement

HDSA's strongest need is donations. Fund raising is the key to ensuring HDSA's programs are successful and that we can support families in the fight against HD. As a volunteer organization HDSA is entirely reliant on the help of volunteers who donate their time and energy to ensure our events are planned and conducted successfully. Finally, HDSA has a strong need to develop partnerships with individuals and businesses in the community to help expand our reach and raise awareness of our organization and goals of supporting local HD families.
