KX 93.5 Laguna Beach

KX FM aims to lead the rebirth of FM radio, enriching our listeners with the discovery of alternative music, views, and culture that elevates Laguna Beach on a global scale.

KX FM is a non-profit community radio station that aims to inform the community on local happenings as well as entertain with different music programming. Through our app and our stream we have a world wide audience but our main focus is Laguna Beach and the surrounding towns. We are the hub for emergency information and remain on-air even when the rest of the town doesn't have power.

This past year KX FM worked hard to remain on-air at all times during power outages, we assisted the City with their emergency alert testing and we brought different groups within the community together.

KX FM is always in need of support so we can make sure that our equipment is kept up to date in the case of an emergency in town. We are always looking for volunteers that want to help with whatever we may need.

KX FM is a community station that makes sure to focus on all things in the community. We only have three paid staff members that work hard to make sure that the company operates and our volunteers are able to enrich the community with their programming. Our goals inside the radio station are just as important as our goals outside of it. We work hard to make sure that all community organizations have a voice to be heard on our airwaves.

KX FM has always been successful in having community involvement. The many organizations around Laguna Beach look to partner with KX FM on their events. The station has struggled with finding a balance in what they will give back to the community pro bono and what they will ask for a donation from. Most organizations in town are on a small budget like the station so it sometimes makes it difficult to fundraise and be a community partner.
