Mount of Olives Church in Mission Viejo, CA, is a vibrant and growing church with programs and ministries for the whole family. Kid City programming is offered weekends for children 5th grade and younger in the dedicated Kid City building, and teens enjoy Rock Ministries services and Bible studies in The Rock student ministries building. Small Groups allow people of all ages to connect in Christian Community and study God’s Word, and Bible-based messages and musical worship are offered every weekend. The church supports mission work in Africa and Honduras, along with local Orange County ministries that support the homeless and unemployed including Southwest Community Center and South County Outreach. Mount of Olives also offers an accredited NAEYC preschool and an Adult Day Program for seniors and adults with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive impairments.

Mount of Olives Church and our ministries are thriving. Our Robert H. Lange Christian Preschool reached capacity with a wait list! We are proud of the ministry and education that is happening year around in our Preschool! We were able to expand our care base in our Adult Day Program, offering care to those "aging-gracefully" and those suffering from cognitive impairments like Alzheimers and dementia. Our family ministries continues to expand their reach by offering parenting classes, marriage classes, Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and personal care through counseling support. These are just a few of our areas of excellence in the past year.
Looking forward, we look to enhance programs and facilities for our Adult Day Program and Robert H. Lange Preschool. We will be adapting our children's and youth programs like retreats, camps, Bible Studies and other activities post COVID 19. This will require planning, expense and finesse to serve those in our community. We are partnering with Orange County Community Foundation to assist the Mount of Olives Foundation with expanding its donor base and increasing the fund by $500,000 by 2025.

1. Financial support of our Adult Day Program, which serves clients with Alzheimer's, dementia and other cognitive disorders. Grant used to enhance programming, increase staffing and updating of facility to accommodate up to 40 daily clients. Budget for this would be approximately $100,000.
2. Children & Youth Ministry support to enahance ministry and to make sure every child that wants to go to Summer or Winter Camp is able to, through scholarships. This requires more staffing, additional transportation requirements and increased space for camps required. Budget would be $100,000.
3. Robert H. Lange Preschool needs more space for care. We currently serve the maximum our facility can, per State Licensing, with a wait list. Our buildings were some of the first constructed on campus and in need of some safety upgrades. We are looking to develop a accredited Outdoor Classroom space to help with this. We need new doors, communication system and classroom refurbishment. Budget for this would be $250,000.
4. Technical Arts & Media upgrades are needed throughout campus. We have multiple large venues throughout campus that hold meetings and worship throughout the week. We are looking to standardize equipment, upgrade cameras and projectors, upgrade/install sound equipment and purchase wireless microphone systems. This is a large ticket item for just the products you see, not to mention what you don't see. Budget to do this would be $500,000.
5. Overall facilities updates to bring the campus to community standards of design and application. We would like to make our parking lots safer by installing LED lighting and re-paving entire area. Retro-fitting lighting throughout campus to make it more energy efficient. HVAC updates on units older than 20 years for energy savings and air quality management within buildings. Budget for these projects would be approximately $250,000.

Serving those in our immediate Mission Viejo community and surrounding areas: from San Clemente down south to families as far north as Orange and Placentia. Families from across Orange County attend weekend services and programs as well as bring their loved ones to our RHL Preschool and Adult Day Program for care during the day.

Mount of Olives is the oldest Christian church in Mission Viejo. As a leader, it is important that I regularly cast a new vision for our congregation to ensure that we are growing and continuing to meet the needs of our community.

We serve the whole person, providing care and support through the many transitions of life. Our Kid City children's programming, parenting classes, Robert H. Lange Christian Preschool and many other innovative activities and programs support families and children from birth to 5th grade. Our ROCK ministries serves Middle School and High School students through retreats, Bible Studies and age specific worship services.

For adults we focus on spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health. Bible studies and classes are offered many days throughout the week providing education, community and enrichment. We have partnered with Hoag Hospital and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to bring wellness programs to our campus. We offer Christian counseling and teach regularly on social-emotional understanding and health. I have even authored a book, "Language of the Heart: Improving Every Relationship", which features Biblical principles for communication, conflict resolution and creating better relationships throughout your life.

Our congregation has a heart for lost people and serving, being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and around the world. I am proud to be their spiritual leader for the past 25 years.
