CEO/Executive Director Experience
Majors Ken Perine brings a wealth of experience in social services, leadership, and education. He has a deep commitment to serving the community and guiding The Salvation Army Orange County's mission of providing hope and transforming lives. Major Ken Perine was commissioned as a Salvation Army officer in 1998. Since that time, he has served at four church/Corps appointments: Bellevue, WA, Pomona, CA, Portland, OR, and Spokane, WA. In addition, he has three years of experience teaching and leading the business department of The Salvation Army’s (seminary), College for Officer Training and four years of experience in Divisional leadership—overseeing the programs and business aspects for the counties of San Diego, Riverside, San Bernadino, and Imperial counties in California. He considers both Sunland and Oceanside, California to be his hometowns. Before he entered seminary, Major Ken Perine worked as electrical engineer in San Diego, CA, and taught Bible study at Calvary Chapel Vista and at The Salvation Army Oceanside Corps. He is a 13-year United States Marine veteran and a veteran of the Gulf War. He holds the following degrees: AA from Palomar College San Marcos, AA in Ministry from the College for Officer training, BA in Business from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington.
