OUR STORY

Yesh Tikva, Hebrew for “There is Hope,” was established to end the silence and create a Jewish community of support for all Jewish people of any denomination facing fertility struggles. Yesh Tikva provides free professional psychosocial resources and tools to those struggling with fertility and raises awareness and sensitivity on the subject throughout the Jewish community.

Yesh Tikva seeks to build an inclusive Jewish community, where everyone feels accepted regardless of family status and growth. By engaging the larger Jewish community in repeated dialogue and education about the struggle of infertility, a more compassionate inclusive Jewish community can be created.

Background Statement

Yesh Tikva was founded in 2015 as a 501(c)3 volunteer run organization by 5 dedicated women who saw a need for emotional support that was not being filled. Over the course of the past 9 years Yesh Tikva has on boarded 5 staff members and a team of 5 dedicated mental health professionals, doubled our Board of Directors and served over 5000 individuals facing infertility, their families and friends, clergy and others interested in learning more about reproductive health. Our core programs include direct support through support groups, a warm line and a peer mentorship program and educational resources for those in struggle as well as for those supporting them. Impact Statement

This year, Yesh Tikva has grown in many meaningful ways. We have increased our support network, doubled our peer mentors, were blessed with two new dedicated board members and a wonderful new staff member. We have celebrated the gifts of life, mourned the losses of wanted miracles and held countless individuals and couples through the roller coaster of a fertility diagnosis.
For this coming year, we aim to once again increase the impact of our support within Orange County, host in person educational gatherings, increase participation in Fertility Friends, create additional print resources for the 1 in 6, fertility clinics and family and friends of those in struggle.

Needs Statement

Yesh Tikva supports the 1 in 6 facing infertility through support groups, Fertility Friend Mentors, care packages and in person community events, but we need financial resources to scale these resources to continue to serve the Jewish community.
