Kits for Kids
When many of us were kids our parents gave us a chance to find an activity we liked. We tried multiple sports, musical instruments, scouts, trying to find something that clicked. Our Active Discovery kits are designed to give at-risk kids a window into a variety of activities they might otherwise never see, and every kit which includes both activity equipment and an Activity Book. Whether it is Soccer, Cooking, Coding, or Music, our products give at-risk kids a chance to find a passion.
Active Discovery is helping at-risk children get moving and find something they love. When we hear from our organizations that the children are happy and moving at least 10 minutes a day AND that they have found something they love to do out of one of our three kits each year - we have succeeded.
Emergency Response Support
In 2022 we began our first efforts in Emergency Support by partnering with a nonprofit who was saving Ukrainian children from war zones and transporting them to their relocations Centers in Poland. They wanted to use our kits for these sweet children that had endured weeks of hiding, and now were safe, but they left everything behind. We created our MVP kit for this acute need. It is a kit that can be used solo or with a friend, in a very small space or outside, and it is all about giving these children a sliver of their childhood back right where they are. From a soccer ball to a jump rope, sidewalk chalk, and a deck of cards, and a 12 sided workout dice along with a fun bracelet that says Get Moving- we hope it brings joy! We ran the 1st Active Discovery Camp for a group of 50 Ukrainian refugees in British Columbia in the summer of 2022. Each year we will look for a group of children that have had a bit of their childhood snatched from them due to natural disasters, war or some other acute situation, that could be blessed by receiving our MVP Kits or a Camp. We are working with a foundation in Turkey to get our MVP Kits to the children they have saved and are housing. We will partner with them for distribution and shipping!
To give back a sliver of childhood to these children whose life has been severely disrupted due to war, natural disaster and other horrific experiences.
Hometown Hero Video Series
These stories are so relatable to the kids and families that we serve, and they inspire us all to keep on going. We want to glimpse in the rear view mirror long enough to learn the lessons through our heroes who have lived the lessons. We then celebrate the windshield view filled with success, hope, and a wide impact for good! To share real stories about real people who have overcome many obstacles to live a life of great impact. The curriculum allows groups of children to bond with adults in talking about hard things in a non-personal way.
