Chef Bill Bracken is a nationally renowned chef with a successful 40-year career in the Luxury Hospitality Industry. After years in some of the most successful hotels in the world and racking up numerous awards to go along with it, Chef Bill hung up his chef coat and strapped on an apron to launch Bracken’s Kitchen in 2013. Seeing first-hand the impact of the economic downturn of 2008-2011 had on so many people, he committed to cook the same high-quality food for those in need. Bracken’s Kitchen started with a food truck named Betsy to answer this challenge to feed hungry children and adults living in Orange County. Mobile kitchens can take nutritious, high-quality food directly into the communities and people that need it most. Over the past six years, the business model has evolved. Since 2013, Chef Bracken has leveraged his relationships to develop partnership with some of the country’s top food vendors and join forces with food recovery organization in the fight to redirect perfectly good food from the trash bins to our commercial kitchen where we host the largest “Chopped” cooking effort daily through our culinary volunteering program, turning out a growing number of more than 30,000 nutritious, wholesome, and hearty meals per month. “Through food recovery, culinary training and our community feeding program, Bracken’s Kitchen is committed to recovering, re-purposing and restoring both food and lives.”
