Val is a visionary nonprofit leader with over 40 years of experience in designing and directing innovative, community-based programs focused on child development, mental health, and family support. She is skilled in collaborative management and known for building mission-driven teams that leverage individual strengths, cultivate trust, and lead with purpose. She has extensive experience overseeing large-scale, trauma-informed initiatives and managing strong collaborative networks in partnership with schools, county agencies, family resource centers, and culturally rooted community-based organizations. Val has a proven track record of securing federal, state, and local funding, as well as aligning cross-sector partners to reduce disparities and improve outcomes for children and families. She is highly effective in strategic planning, systems-level thinking, and data-informed program design. Val brings a deep commitment to equity, prevention, and relational leadership, along with a strong background in mentoring staff, engaging advisory boards, and sustaining long-term community impact across multiple sites and service domains.
