CEO/Executive Director Experience
Georgina Maldonado has served as CHIOC’s Executive Director since 2015 and brings nearly 20 years of experience in improving healthcare access for diverse communities across Southern California. Under her leadership, CHIOC has expanded its services, initiated critical conversations around health equity, adapted to COVID-19 protocols, and launched a revenue-generating social enterprise—a nonprofit health insurance broker agency that helps clients enroll in Covered California and Medicare. In addition to her role at CHIOC, Ms. Maldonado is an active board member for the statewide California Coverage and Health Initiatives and OC Forum, a nonpartisan nonprofit that fosters community dialogue on current affairs. She also advises the Orange County Women’s Health Project and the Insure the Uninsured Project. With a commitment to cultural competence, Ms. Maldonado holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
