Oliver Sicat

CEO/Executive Director Experience

The organization’s co-founder, Oliver Sicat, has served as Ednovate’s Chief Executive Officer since our founding in 2012. As such, Mr. Sicat is responsible for the overall leadership and vision of the organization and the continuous development of our student-centered instructional model. Prior to Ednovate, Mr. Sicat worked at Chicago Public Schools (CPS), serving as the district’s first Chief Portfolio Officer and on the executive cabinet. At CPS, Mr. Sicat led the city’s strategic efforts of opening new schools, closing low-performing schools, and transitioning the district to a portfolio model. Prior to his work at CPS, he helped expand the Noble Network of Charter Schools and served as the founding principal of UIC College Prep, the highest performing, non­-selective high school in Chicago. He started his career in education as a teacher in the Boston Public Schools (BPS), where he taught mathematics, and was named the 2006 Teacher of the Year in the BPS. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
