Emilio Nares Foundation

ENF helps families navigate through their child's journey with cancer and other life-threatening diseases and ensures no child misses a cancer treatment due to lack of transportation. 

The Emilio Nares Foundation was founded in 2003 after five-year-old Emilio lost his battle with leukemia. At that time, critically ill children were missing an average of four treatment appointments each week simply because of transportation barriers to care. Now, we have eliminated all missed appointments due to lack of transportation and to date, Ride With Emilio has traveled about 1.2 million miles, and safely transported over 4,500 children in Southern California.
Ride with Emilio operates six program vans in San Diego, Orange, and Imperial counties, traveling 100,000 miles and making over 3,500 trips per year. Furthermore, The Emilio Nares Foundation developed several FREE programs & services within our community to fill critical needs that have impacted nearly 10,000 families dealing with a child with cancer for the last 20 years.

ENF's accomplishments: 1. Hired second part time driver in Orange County to make sure no child misses an appointment. 2. Hired ENF's first LA Driver to drive children in LA. 3. Expanded programs & services to CHOC, including Emilio's healthy snack bags and a virtual Family Resource Center at CHOC.

Goals: 1. Continue delivering Loving Tab Shirts to even more hospitals around the country. 2. Expand Ride with Emilio to serve even more children in LA and other hospitals in the nation. 3. Hire an Events Coordinator to assist with all the foundation's needs. 

1. Annually raise $500,000 to support operation costs of Ride With Emilio in Orange County, so we can continue to ensure no child misses their cancer treatment due to lack of transportation in OC.  2. Hire an Events Coordinator for Foundation.

Currently we serve San Diego County, Imperial Valley, Orange County and LA.

We are very grateful for the terrific support that we receive from the Orange County community. Your generosity enables us to continue to provide our life saving programs that benefit families whose children are battling cancer. We deliver services at no cost to our patient families, most of whom live among the poverty thresholds, thank you for sharing in our vision.
