Gloves for Grief
OUR STORY
Gloves For Grief serves children, at-risk youth, families, and adults navigating grief from many forms of loss. Through transformative boxing-based movement, led by a certified athletic trainer in a safe and grief-literate community, we create space for healing.
Our H.O.P.E. programming—Helping Others Process Emotions—supports the bereaved through holistic mind, body, and spirit practices that build resilience, help process emotions, and restore hope. We believe no one should grieve alone.
With every breath, every movement, and every connection, we help turn loss into love, pain into purpose, and grief into growth—helping people heal, honor their loved ones, and reclaim their strength one punch, one breath, and one step at a time.
This is more than a mission... It's a movement.
Mission Statement
At Gloves For Grief, our mission is to serve children, at-risk youth, families, and adults who are navigating grief from a variety of losses through the transformative use of boxing motions led by a certified athletic trainer in a safe and grief-literate community. Through our H.O.P.E. program—Helping Others Process Emotions—we empower the bereaved through holistic mind, body, and spirit programming to build resilience, process emotions, and reclaim hope.
Background Statement
Gloves For Grief was founded out of personal loss and the deep understanding that grief is not a journey meant to be walked alone. After experiencing the profound pain of losing their sons, our founders discovered that traditional grief support often lacked the physical and emotional outlets needed for true healing. Boxing became an unexpected yet powerful tool—a way to release emotions, process pain, and find strength in movement.
Recognizing that grief affects families globally in unique ways, Gloves for Grief was created to offer holistic healing through movement, mindfulness, and community support. Our organization provides a safe space for individuals and families to navigate loss through Box & Breathe Wellness Events, private events, virtual support groups, and semi-private grief boxing sessions.
By blending physical activity with mental and emotional support, Gloves for Grief helps normalize conversations around loss, ensuring that no one has to grieve in silence.
Impact Statement
At Gloves for Grief, we believe that healing is not just about surviving loss—it’s about reclaiming strength, finding purpose, and building a supportive community where no one has to grieve alone.
Through our mind-body-soul healing programs, we’ve helped countless individuals and families navigate the depths of grief with H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Process Emotions). By blending movement, mindfulness, and emotional release, we provide more than just support—we offer a path to transformation.
🔹 In 3 years, over 1,500 participants have attended our Box & Breathe Wellness Events, finding relief, connection, and resilience through movement.
🔹 Our tailored grief support has reached hospitals, schools, other nonprofits, and at-risk youth & children, equipping them with powerful tools to process trauma and loss.
🔹 We’ve created safe spaces where grieving hearts can share, heal, and grow together.
Every punch thrown, every deep breath taken, and every shared story brings us closer to breaking the silence around grief.
At Gloves for Grief, we don’t just help people cope with loss—we help them rise from it.
Needs Statement
At Gloves For Grief, we believe that healing from loss should be active, accessible, and community-driven. What began as a local initiative in Orange County has grown into a movement—drawing individuals from across Southern California and beyond who are seeking meaningful, nontraditional grief support.
But we have big dreams—and slowing down is not an option.
Grief is a lifelong journey, and the need for holistic, action-based healing spaces has never been greater. While our Box & Breathe Wellness Events provide a powerful outlet, our focus is on expanding our programming to reach more individuals, families, and communities—while keeping our services low-cost and accessible to all.
With the support of donors and partners, we are able to bring our programs directly into communities—serving schools, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and corporations who want to support the well-being of those they serve.
Every dollar invested in Gloves For Grief helps remove barriers to healing. It allows someone to show up, take a breath, release what they’re carrying, and feel supported in a space where they are not alone.
To continue this work, we need dedicated supporters, funding partners, and a community that believes in the power of movement to heal.
Together, we can expand access, deepen impact, and ensure that no one has to navigate grief alone.
Are you ready to help us bring healing to more communities?

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
Gloves For Grief was born from devastating personal loss, but it has grown into something far greater—a movement that is changing the way we approach grief as whole. Grief doesn’t go away, but we can learn to move through it, and that’s exactly what we do. Through movement, community, and holistic healing, we create spaces where people can release their pain, honor their loved ones, and find strength in their journey. It is an honor to be changing the narrative and dialog surrounding grief.
Grief is universal, and so is our mission. Whether you’ve just started your journey or have been carrying loss for years, we are here. Gloves For Grief is more than an organization—it’s a community, a movement, and a testament to the power of healing together.
