Mission Statement
JFCS's mission is to promote the well-being of individuals and families by providing professional mental health care and to assist families in crisis with a safety net of supportive services.
Background Statement
JFCS is a secular mental health and social service agency that supports individuals and families regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic or immigration status, gender expression or sexual orientation. Clients receive individualized assistance and resources that empower them to become more self-sufficient, connected and fulfilled. JFCS was founded on and continues to exemplify the Jewish values of Tikkun Olam (heal the world) and Tzedakah (give to those in need as it is the right thing to do).
Impact Statement
In 2023, JFCS provided:
22,766 hours of direct service including:
3,191 hours of senior home care and chores
710 hours of training for mental health clinicians
5,184 hours of individual and family counseling
3,893 hours of youth mental health
In addition, JFCS provided $81,000 in food, rent and utility assistance to 252 vulnerable individuals, supported 37 domestic violence survivors, 85 refugees, 294 uninsured counseling clients and 28 Holocaust Survivors.
Needs Statement
In 2025, JFCS will be bringing mental health services to all of Orange County. This will include in-office counseling, domestic violence education, and senior services. With the expansion of our service area comes a large need to offset costs for these services. Because JFCS often works with vulnerable populations the organization relies on philanthropy to cover costs associated with providing services. Over 30% of JFCS's current budget is made up of philanthropic support.
