CEO/Executive Director Experience

Christy Ward is a nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience in health care, higher education, and the arts. In 2021, she joined MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center Foundation as President, leading a team dedicated to growing philanthropy and sharing its impact on the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities in Orange County. Previously as Vice President of the Hoag Hospital Foundation, Christy elevated the impact of major, principal and planned giving during the successful $760 million Hoag Promise campaign. She has held leadership positions in advancement at the University of North Carolina and at Chapman University in Southern California. Her passion is learning about what matters most to donors and helping them find meaningful funding opportunities that support the mission of nonprofit organizations doing good in our community. She believes in the power of collaboration across for-profit and nonprofit organizations to discover new ways to leverage philanthropy. She is grateful for partnerships with philanthropists and community leaders who help raise funds for important, life-saving and compassionate care here at MemorialCare.
