Sallys Fund Inc

Sally’s Fund mission is to provide mobility for seniors and the disabled who no longer drive, encounter barriers to public transportation, have age related issues or are disabled and require assisted transportation service. Currently, Sally’s Fund serves 3.5% of the total Laguna Beach population. As a city with an average age of 52, with 28.7% of the population over 65 years of age, cited by the Laguna Beach 2023 consensus, transportation needs for the elderly is rapidly increasing. As a non-profit we have grown exponentially over the last 25 years based on need. Sally’s Fund has supplemented available fixed route public transportation to meet the needs and bridge the gap by providing an alternative transportation option, increasing senior transportation. Sally’s Fund improved efficiencies will enable us to collaborate further with outside agencies, reaching more of the underrepresented and disabled. Many older adults in our community lack the resources or knowledge of our program. We will do more marketing via social media and local press, create more efficiency, improve scheduling, research and introduce a technology-based booking system, and streamline utilization of vehicles, to increase ridership. We will also continue to reduce the demand on OC Access. Sally’s Fund has partnered with the City of Laguna Beach to expand mobility options for seniors. Sally’s Fund works closely on a daily basis, with the Laguna Beach Senior Center, the Care Management team and Lifelong Laguna to identify additional elderly in need of our services. We must take a proactive role in determining the underserved and continue to Provide safe, reliable, escorted and assisted transportation.
