Christy Ward, Chief Executive Officer

CEO/Executive Director Experience

Christy Ward is the Chief Executive Officer of Share Ourselves. She is grateful to lead Share Ourselves, continuing the amazing legacy of essential services to the communities that are served, as well as being able to incorporate community service and advocacy as part of her daily work. Christy joined Share Ourselves in September 2019 after serving as the Chief Executive Officer of One Community Health in Sacramento and prior to that was the Chief Operating Officer/Primary Care Services Director for the Multnomah County Health Department in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area, where Christy grew up. Christy also served in previous leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente in Oregon and at Oregon Health and Science University, where she began working as a nurse and moved into progressive leadership positions. Christy understands well the importance of community partnerships and collaborations with safety net clinics, health systems and providers, and civic leaders. Christy earned her Master’s degree in Communication and Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University and her Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration at Ashford University. She is a licensed vocational nurse and is a current board member of the California Primary Care Association, a previous board member of the Oregon Primary Care Association, and is a California representative for the OCHIN CEO Steering Committee, which provides strategic input for the OCHIN organization that hosts the Epic electronic health record for safety-net clinics across the United States. She also serves on the Provider Advisory Committee for CalOptima
