CEO/Executive Director Experience

Christopher G. Rowan, PhD, is Founder and President of Veritas Research Foundation, the independent Orange County nonprofit he established in 2022 to detect, confirm, and prevent medication-related harm in older adults. He leads Pharmacovigilance 2.0, including the CMS Medicare data use agreement, study design, and publication of findings. A pharmacoepidemiologist and biostatistician, Dr. Rowan has nearly two decades of experience designing observational drug-safety studies in claims and electronic health record data. He previously held research leadership roles at Amgen, Quintiles, the American Medical Group Association, and COHRDATA, the research firm he also founded. He is Adjunct Associate Professor at Rutgers University’s Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science. He earned his PhD in Epidemiology with a minor in Biostatistics from the University of Pennsylvania, received the Saul Winegrad Award for outstanding dissertation, and completed a pre-doctoral fellowship at the FDA’s Division of Drug Risk Evaluation. He is a member of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology, a statistical reviewer for JAMA Network Open, and a reviewer for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety.
