CEO/Executive Director Experience

Sara Higgins serves as the Program Director of The Lynn House, a women’s recovery shelter dedicated to helping women build lasting foundations in recovery from substance use disorders. Sara’s journey with The Lynn House began several years ago, when she herself entered the program as a resident. During her 8½-month stay, she learned to live life on life’s terms and built the foundation for her own recovery. Over the years, Sara has dedicated her career to helping women overcome addiction and rebuild their own lives. She began her professional career as a Behavioral Technician, later advancing to Case Manager, and now proudly serves as Program Director. Having experienced addiction, homelessness, and recovery herself, she understands the courage it takes to start over. She believes one of her greatest strengths is guiding and supporting women because she knows what it feels like to come from nothing and rebuild a life with purpose, hope, and dignity. Sara holds her SUDRC-II (Substance Use Disorder Registered Counselor II) credential and is currently completing her education to become a CADAC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor). As Program Director, Sara is committed to creating a safe, structured, and compassionate environment where women can heal, grow, and rediscover who they are. It is both an honor and a privilege to lead the very program that helped transform her own life.
