Mobile Healthcare Program for Shelter Residents

Healing to You’s Mobile Healthcare Program delivers trauma-informed medical and mental health services directly into Orange County communities. Our fully equipped mobile clinics operate through scheduled partner site visits, community outreach events, and referral-based deployments, ensuring care reaches survivors of violence and individuals experiencing housing instability where access is limited. The program integrates primary medical care, behavioral health services, safety assessments, prevention education, and care coordination within one mobile model. Services include adult and pediatric care, reproductive health, chronic disease screening, mental health counseling, and victim advocacy. Transportation and childcare assistance are provided when needed to support continuity of care. All clinical team members are dual certified in domestic violence and sexual assault response, ensuring services are trauma-informed, safety-centered, and responsive to the complex needs of survivors and their children. The Mobile Healthcare Program is designed to close access gaps, increase early intervention, and strengthen coordination within Orange County’s violence response and housing support systems.

Wilmington Comprehensive Community Clinic

Healing to You opened the Wilmington Comprehensive Community Clinic in Fall 2025 to expand access to integrated, trauma-informed healthcare for families impacted by violence. The clinic serves as a permanent, community-based site that complements our mobile services and extends access through telehealth options when in-person care is not feasible. The clinic provides adult and pediatric primary care, comprehensive mental health services, and specialized sexual assault forensic exams with advocacy. Services include preventive care, chronic disease management, reproductive health, trauma-focused counseling, and prenatal monitoring including advanced 3D and 4D ultrasounds. Telehealth appointments increase continuity of care, reduce transportation barriers, and support patients who require privacy or scheduling flexibility. Our mental health providers have specialized expertise in early childhood development, including children ages 0 to 5, addressing the neurological and relational impacts of early trauma. This focus supports healthy attachment, emotional regulation, and long-term developmental outcomes. All staff are trauma-informed and dual certified in domestic violence and sexual assault response, ensuring care is clinically skilled, safety-centered, and responsive to the complex needs of survivors and their children. The Wilmington Comprehensive Community Clinic serves as a stable, community-based healthcare anchor for families who need coordinated, compassionate care in one setting.

Outcomes

The Wilmington Comprehensive Community Clinic increases access to consistent, trauma-informed primary and behavioral healthcare for families impacted by violence. Patients benefit from coordinated services in one setting, improving continuity of care and strengthening follow-through with treatment plans.

Integrated medical and mental health services support earlier identification of chronic conditions, improved stabilization of trauma-related symptoms, and stronger engagement in ongoing care.

Children, including those ages 0 to 5, receive early developmental and trauma-informed intervention that supports attachment, emotional regulation, and long-term health outcomes. Telehealth services further expand access, increasing appointment continuity and reducing transportation barriers.

The clinic is developing the clinical infrastructure necessary to incorporate specialized forensic medical services in the future, strengthening Orange County’s capacity to respond to sexual violence within a coordinated healthcare framework.
