OUR STORY
Every year, thousands of families in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles County walk into a NICU never expecting to be there. One moment they're expecting a baby. The next, they're learning a new language of monitors, feeding tubes, and terms like "gestational age" while their newborn fights for their life just steps away.
Miracle Babies exists for that moment, and every moment after.
Since 2010, we have stood beside NICU families across 13+ hospitals, providing what they actually need to get through it: gas cards and transportation so parents can be at their baby's bedside, bilingual mental health support and therapy for the trauma no one warns you about, diapers and care packages when a hospital stay drains a family's savings, and a community of people who understand exactly what this journey feels like.
We don't just help babies survive the NICU. We help families survive it too, and come out the other side stronger, more resilient, and ready to bring their baby home.
Your gift doesn't fund a program. It funds a parent's ability to hold their baby's hand one more day, to afford the drive to the hospital, to have someone tell them they are not alone.

Mission Statement
Miracle Babies empowers families during their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) journey by providing comprehensive services and a supportive community that fosters hope, resiliency, and healing.
Background Statement
Founded in 2010, Miracle Babies supports NICU families across Orange County, San Diego, and Los Angeles County from the moment a baby is admitted. In Orange County, we partner directly with hospitals to reach parents in crisis and walk with them through transportation support, bilingual mental health care, and Miracle Hours programming built around what families here actually need.
Impact Statement
An Orange County parent who cannot afford gas still gets to their baby's bedside. A mother processing trauma in Spanish gets a therapist who speaks her language. A family drained financially by a NICU stay still brings their baby home with diapers, care packages, and dignity intact. This is what Orange County families experience because of Miracle Babies: they are never doing this alone.
Needs Statement
Orange County has excellent NICUs, but excellent medical care does not cover transportation costs, culturally competent therapy, or the financial strain of an unplanned hospital stay. As more OC hospitals refer families to us, the need is growing faster than our current funding allows. Continued support means we can say yes to every family who reaches us, not just the ones we can currently afford to help.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
I have spent over 20 years in nonprofit leadership across Southern California, and nothing has shaped me the way this work has. Every family we serve expected to bring their baby home right away. Instead, they found themselves in a NICU, learning a language of machines and medical terms no parent is prepared for.
Orange County has some of the best neonatal care in the country. But it does not pay for gas to get to the hospital every day, or provide a therapist who speaks a parent's first language, or replace the income a family loses while their baby fights to survive.
That is where Miracle Babies steps in. I have watched a mother break down in relief over a gas card that meant she no longer had to choose between seeing her baby and paying rent. I have watched a father finally open up because we connected him to a bilingual therapist who understood him. This is what survival looks like for an Orange County NICU family, and it is why I do this work.
