No Woman No Cry
OUR STORY
We envision women living in safety, stability, and dignity, free from crisis, free from limitation, and fully empowered to direct their own lives. Our vision is rooted in removing the barriers that disrupt a woman’s path to self-sufficiency and replacing them with structured support, community, and opportunity. We exist so that women transitioning out of instability can rebuild with confidence, strengthen their autonomy, and step into sustainable independence not alone, but supported, seen, and uplifted every step of the way.
Mission Statement
No Woman No Cry is dedicated to uplifting women, championing their agency, self-autonomy, and the freedom to celebrate their unique identities and viewpoints, no matter their beliefs. We treasure the power of collaboration and hold fast to the idea that, as a community, we do not simply fly—Together We Soar. At our heart, we offer transitional and emergency housing, prioritizing recovery-focused support that fosters stability, safety, and dignity, while guiding women toward sustainability.
Background Statement
Our journey began as we observed women entering transitional housing and losing hope because they were unable to meet the program requirements. Some of us are single mothers or women who have faced their own financial struggles. Due to our backgrounds and experience working with homeless women and children, we recognized that we could not simply stand by and continue our daily routines while so many women suffer some sleeping on the streets, many lacking support or someone to believe in them. We felt a strong responsibility to make a meaningful difference, and we believe we are capable of creating positive change. Our goal is to assist women through transitional housing and connect them with additional housing opportunities, such as affordable housing and voucher programs. We believe that change begins with us. To support these women, we will facilitate access to mental health counseling and provide resources like assistance with college enrollment and technical training programs. Additionally, we will offer foundational life skills courses such as financial literacy, healthy cooking, parenting skills for raising healthy children, and self-empowerment.
Impact Statement
No Woman No Cry (NWNC) creates measurable pathways from crisis to stability for women and single mothers experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Orange County. By combining immediate support with long-term stabilization services, NWNC reduces barriers that prevent families from securing and maintaining safe housing.
Through case management, workforce empowerment, and flexible “Roadblock Removal” assistance, NWNC addresses urgent needs that directly impact housing outcomes. Our Dignity Programs provide critical entry points for engagement, ensuring women and children receive immediate support while being connected to long-term resources.
NWNC’s integrated approach improves housing readiness, strengthens family stability, and supports faster transitions into safe, sustainable living. Our work focuses on restoring dignity, increasing self-sufficiency, and ensuring women and children have the opportunity to thrive.
Needs Statement
No Woman No Cry (NWNC) addresses a critical gap in Orange County’s homelessness response system for women and single mothers who are unstably housed or at risk of homelessness. Despite the presence of strong housing and shelter providers, many individuals face immediate barriers, such as lack of childcare, transportation, documentation, and emergency funds that prevent successful entry into or retention of stable housing.
NWNC provides a coordinated continuum of care that bridges crisis intervention and long-term stability. Services include transitional housing support, case management, workforce empowerment, and flexible “Roadblock Removal” assistance ranging from $200–$1,500 to resolve urgent barriers that directly impact housing outcomes.
Through our Dignity Programs including immediate stabilization support, hygiene access, laundry assistance, and community-based outreach; NWNC engages individuals at the earliest point of need while connecting them to structured pathways toward housing, employment, and self-sufficiency.
NWNC strengthens the regional system of care by reducing service gaps, improving housing readiness, and supporting faster stabilization outcomes for women and families across Orange County.
