LaTijera Cabrera is a social impact leader, housing systems strategist, and founder dedicated to dismantling structural barriers that keep women experiencing homelessness from achieving long-term stability. With over a decade of frontline and executive experience in homelessness response, mental health services, and housing stabilization programs across Orange County and Los Angeles County, she brings both systems-level expertise and lived proximity to the communities she serves. LaTijera holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Social Justice from Arizona State University, where her academic work centered on gender-based inequities, housing injustice, and institutional barriers affecting women. Her professional career spans leadership roles in Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Bridge Housing, and Medi-Cal funded CALAIM programs. She has supervised multidisciplinary teams, managed HMIS and coordinated entry systems, ensured compliance with county and federal funding requirements and grants, and implemented trauma-informed care models serving high-acuity populations. Before founding No Woman No Cry, LaTijera served as Program Manager at Colette’s Children’s Home, where she oversaw multiple housing programs for women with mental health needs. She previously worked as a Senior Case Manager at Mercy House, managing intensive housing navigation and stabilization services under CalOptima Connect. Currently, she serves as Program Supervisor at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, where she leads program compliance, staff supervision, and cross-sector partnerships serving vulnerable families and seniors. LaTijera founded No Woman No Cry to address what she identified as a systemic gap: women are often placed into temporary shelter but lack individualized barrier-removal support necessary for permanent stability. Her organization is building a scalable Roadblock Removal Model™ designed to eliminate the most common destabilizing factors including housing access, mental health gaps, employment barriers, and childcare instability through coordinated, trauma-informed intervention. Her leadership philosophy centers on dignity, data-driven decision-making, and long-term systems change. She is committed to scaling No Woman No Cry to serve thousands of women annually while building a financially sustainable, replicable model that can expand regionally.
