SoulRapha is working to end senior isolation in Orange County CA.

SoulRapha offers holistic wellness, education and community engagement for older adults. Human connection with people is an inherent aspect of our society. SoulRaphians work to lessen the effects of isolation experienced by seniors. Holistic Senior Care treats older adults based on an understanding of their physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs. SoulRapha programs and policies are inclusive of all persons regardless of race, cultures, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.

Empirical studies demonstrate the dramatic improvement seniors experience when they are connected to a community and receive the benefits of an increased group of faces, they are seeing. SoulRapha is leveraging the power of contemporary technology enhanced with strategic in-person interaction to deliver this support. Our Senior Engagement Program is successfully providing the following benefits:

Modern American culture has made it easy to forget the elderly, pushing them to the side, making them in many ways inferior and invisible. SoulRapha is motivated to inspire, educate, engage and connect our community to care for seniors. Many voices with one call is critical to activating a culture shift. SoulRapha unites community, government, education, private and faith-based organizations in a collaborative partnership to bring awareness and provide care to disadvantaged and underserved seniors. The result is a compassionate care model that eliminates barriers to access and makes these environments healthier and happy.

Do you remember being the new kid in school? The difficulty in making new friends? Now think of the challenges an older adult faces as they age and lose friends. They are encountering many emotions as they make this transition. Loss of home, loved ones, and independence. Prior to the pandemic, isolation was already trending to unhealthy levels and the pandemic only made things worse. SoulRapha has an answer to the problems created by isolation. Using modern day technology combined with our compassionate caring volunteers and team, we developed a community outreach program that is consistent, efficient, sustainable, and scalable to ensure our vital services are available to seniors in this time of great need and beyond. Keeping community and seniors connected to love is possible because it is about making and/or maintaining an emotional and spiritual connection.

This past year revealed to me, more than ever before, the tremendous need and opportunity to care for older adults that are easily overlooked. Wherever they reside, these men and women suffer! Not only from some physical problems, but more importantly, they often suffer from the emotional pain of loneliness and feelings of worthlessness.
